We could split them into multiple BLOBs, but it might be better if we kept large files out of the DB. (Large files can slow down DB backups, DB storage is more expensive than filesystem storage, etc.) Also, we should probably implement some way for project maintainers to choose Okapi options, instead of hard-coding them in the adapter class. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. However, as soon as you move the focus to a different entry, the red "Validation Warnings: n" disappears, leaving only the red border around the entry. Actual results: Warning not obvious enough when moving focus to different entry. Expected results: Warning obvious even when moving to different entry. Additional info: We had a bug which displayed red borders for many entries, even if there was no error or validation warning present. Translators might have "learned" to ignore the red border (which is not very obvious at the best of times) - I sure did and got used to not taking any notice of it. Suggesting to keep the red highlighted text visible to break that habit, also suggesting to make the red border thicker. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. We are currently working on a project which has multiple versions within. One of them is an upstream project, and two others are downstream (RH). Our developer raised a concern that by allowing new contributors from outside Red Hat to join the upstream project, it also allows them to access to downstream version. This makes difficult to control/monitor/track the translation. The requested function can prevent other contributors from editing our downstream version and will be helpful in maintaining the quality of our translation. It can also be used to allow certain translators only to access upstream projects, as required. Joining requires some activity from an admin or language team coordinator, and can potentially take more than 24 hours, which is discouraging to people who have just learned about Zanata and want to have a quick look at its features. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Sign up and sign in for the first time 2. Try to translate something to your native language Actual results: User is not able to enter translations for any language, have to send a request to join a language team, then wait. Expected results: User is able to enter not-accepted translations for any language, which would be queued for review by a user with higher permissions for that language. Additional info: The submitted translations would act as part of the user's 'application' to join a language team, giving language team coordinators some evidence of their ability to translate that language. Alternatively, this would fit well with a reputation based approach to translation permissions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. The top-down assignment of permissions by admins to language team coordinators and by team coordinators to translators is not a good fit for a merit-based community Proposed solution: Add a reputation score that is calculated based on total count of approved translations, rejected translations, translations the user has reviewed, and any other relevant measures. The score should reflect both the quality and the volume of translations the user has submitted. This would depend on new users being able to submit proposed translations for any language (see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=919253). - When translations are reviewed and accepted, they will increase the user's 'reputation' for that language. - Rejected translations would reduce the user's reputation, but they would have an opportunity to fix the translations and submit again. - As the user gains reputation for a language, they automatically gain extra permissions for that language. A reputation system could run concurrently with the current language-team permission system, or could completely replace the language team model for translation permissions. Restrictions based on roles/group membership would still be possible for non-language factors (e.g. restriction for Fedora community members on Fedora projects). Language teams would still be useful for communication, glossary management, and other things that are best managed at the locale-group level. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. This type is exclusively for offline translation working with po files generated from non-po project types and is not designed for normal project maintenance. This is a client-only project type, so it cannot be selected on the server. Client behaviour when using project type 'offlinepo' - pull generates reversible po and pot files with Zanata id in msgctxt - push uses msgctxt for id in Zanata - as long as msgctxt is not modified, translations should always be correctly associated with source in Zanata when they are pushed. The specific example that I noticed had the document's footer near the top of the list which could be confusing. - There seem to be comments and instructions for the designers in the document itself, which may or may not need to be translated. I would strongly advise only the first option - using completely separate directories. The default config file will pull and push files in their original format, whereas the offline translation config file will pull and push files as offlinepo. The files are incompatible, so there is no use case for using the different config files in the same zanata directory. In other words, files for offline translation (config file and pulled files) should never be mixed with files for normal 'project maintainer' activities. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. Push as push-type "trans" does not work. > e.g. mvn zanata:push -Dzanata.pushType=trans > did nothing and return BUILD SUCCESS. This works for me with both cli and maven clients. More information is required about the project type, documents and maven client version to reproduce. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. The only time this should not happen is when interactive mode is disabled (it is enabled by default). e.g. [INFO] No source documents found. [WARNING] Found 2 obsolete docs on the server which will be DELETED [INFO] Obsolete docs: [doc1.txt, doc2.txt] This will overwrite existing source documents on the server, and delete obsolete documents.
