Hi Bryan,

Only users with admin role can see and set obsolete. You just need to make yourself an admin or ask another admin user to do the job for you. 

To contact an instance admin, after login go to menu More->Help, you should see an action link "Contact Admin" there. BTW which instance are you referring to?

We had a discussion after your email. If you think project maintainers should also be able to mark maintained projects to obsolete, please fire a RFE bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?format=guided&product=Zanata
