Alpha Newbie needs help netbooting linux

Yes, I've got a spare DS10 to test things on as well.

See answer to (2). I got someway myself with building FC1 on the DS10. From 
what I remember the major stumbling block was that NPTL for alpha wasn't 
implemented in glibc yet (well, if it was is certainly wouldn't compile ;-), 
which had a knock on effect on the kernel and the toolchain. I got someway 
into hacking said RPMs to remove NPTL dependencies and then the disc in the 
DS10 went bang after a power outage. I reckon it wouldn't take long to get 
back to the same point though...
