That's pretty interesting. I've never seen this issue, but I wonder if
that's due to me using file:// URLs for my repository. There's a patch
worked in to the python SRPM, but it's only triggered for platforms
using lib64 as the lib path.

I've rebuilt the python RPMs, with the x86_64 patch included in an
"%ifarch alpha", and the issue now seems to be gone, based on the
short testcase given in Bugzilla.

Uploading 2.3.3-6icbinu1 now.
