sound card setup on alphacore

Heya.

Okay I have had alphacore running quite well on my ds10 for a little
while now, and anyway I just installed a sound card.

But it doesn't seem to be working correctly, I can run the sound card
configuration program, and can hear the guitar sample correctly, but
under gnome, no sound, and under kde I have noise on the left channel,
and sound on the right channel.

Now what am I doing wrong?
