By the Way: USB for an SX164?

Has anyone ever tried simply soldering a USB-jack into the SX164 Mainboard?

the chipset seems to support usb (PYXIS set) and there are even all the
holes in the mainboard for an AMP shielded USB connector. Even linux seems
to find usb but (of course) no devices for it. Has anyone experience on
that?
