Yes, I believe that the kernel-2.6.23.10-97.fc8.1axp kernels have the
fix, and are in the repository. An easy check: look at the changelog
for the kernel to have:

* Thu Dec 27 2007 Jay Estabrook <jay.estabrook at hp.com> 2.6.23.10-97.1axp
- Patch to eliminate Cypress chip quirk for IDE component

I will be sending it upstream, but so far I've only checked it on
XP1000, so please DO check it on MIATA, and let me know!

Note that you may find it easier to fresh-install F8 instead of trying
to update from AC3 via YUM or by hand. But if you DO do it via update,
please keep track of anything you might have to do out of the ordinary.
