Getting started with Linux

Hi,

The best place to start is http://linux-speakup.org/ which is the
home of Speakup, a screen reader for the Linux console. You probably
don't want to run a server from an external drive since it'll be
running 24 hours per day and you can't conveniently boot from USB
without sighted help to adjust your BIOS. Another good place is
blinux-list at redhat.com which is a mailing list for blind people using
Linux. Try http://www.oralux.org/ and go to Google and search for
Linux, blind etc. You might want to look at the orca screen reader
for Gnome but I don't have a site. Search the ACB Radio site
http://www.acbradio.org/ for Linux, there are many beginner audio
tutorials that were done in 2000 for Main Menu. The basics really
haven't changed since then and that at least gets you started.
