64-bit Disassembler

I' having trouble with my Java JNI bindings. The library loads, but I 
always get an UnsatisfiedLinkError. It looks like I will have to go over 
the binary with a fine-toothed comb. So what is the command to 
disassemble a 64-bit library?

On a similar subject, how does Linux know in which library a function is 
present?
