a more simple question?

I have network-manager and network-manager-gnome, which is really only a graphical front end to network-manager.  It was only a slight mess, but i got 
it working by changing the /etc/network/interfaces file.  If she is not familiar with that, I can send over a file that can replace the one she has 
and it should work.
