It's been a while since I played with an MSI Wind netbook running
Linux but don't recall any grave issues. I ended up buying a Dell
Mini-9 and using that instead (it had no moving parts to break, being
fanless and using a SSD). Like most netbooks, the keyboard was a
little cramped. There's a good page of details at

  http://www.linlap.com/msi

where you can check the particular model you want to know about.

The most common issues seem to be:

- wireless (some require the RealTek drivers which aren't
free and thus aren't in all repositories; but if you have an
Atheros chipset, you should be good; or you can load the RT drivers)

- processor speed/frequency scaling (AKA "Speed Step")

- cameras may require being enabled/disabled via a soft-function-key
combo (may not be an issue)

Hope this helps,
