The Minishift team is pleased to announce the release of Minishift
1.0.0-rc.2.

Minishift [1] is a command-line tool that provisions and manages a
single-node OpenShift cluster optimized for development workflows. You can
run Minishift on GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, or Mac OS X.

Release Highlights
-------------------------

With this release, we moved closer to the 1.0.0 release. This release adds
several features, enhancements and bug fixes, including:

  - Add-on for creating Admin user with cluster-admin role [2]
      * After installing and enabling this add-on, the user can log into
the Web console as a cluster administrator.

  - "openshift registry" sub-command [3]
      * This command displays the “host IP:Port” information of the
OpenShift registry which can be used as a local docker registry.

  - New add-on command "echo" [4]
      * This command prints the arguments that follow the "echo" command to
the command-line console. This can be used to provide additional feedback
during add-on execution.

  - Support for driver options during start [5]
      * This will allow the user to use the supported driver options during
"minishift start" for e.g. specify the correct virtual switch for the
HyperV driver to start Minishift.

You can find detailed information about these changes in the release notes
[6] and in the milestone [7] .

Minishift is publishing its documentation to docs.openshift.org [8]. Please
refer to the documentation for the information about getting started,
using, and developing Minishift.

Please give the new release a try and let us know your feedback.

The Minishift community hangs out at #minishift channel on Freenode and it
is the perfect place to discuss anything Minishift-related.
