Incidentally there is some opportunity of adding remote syslogging 
support as well (probably by adding a small watcher/logger daemon), to 
complement the file access logs.

I'll be looking into this for 0.3.7 also and the logging structure will 
be similar.   It will likely allow for more fine grained status monitoring.
