Oh boy...:(
This is becoming somewhat of a nagging trend when one talks to UGs or
even new users. And the reasons are as varied as:

[o] everything on my spanking new laptop/desktop works out of the box
[o] apt-get
[o] great on the eyes

to the now growing chorus of "ubuntu is more participatory in nature"

Come to think of it, a "best distribution" in today's times is not
really an issue of technicality (after all nearly a whole bundle seems
to pack in the same package versions and the like) rather an issue of
perception.

It is an uphill battle to change perception because perhaps the only way
one can do it is to keep meeting folks and keep talking to them (that's
what the Ambassadors are here for). Keep talking about all the upcoming
goodies, keep talking about what the future looks like and well you get
the drift I guess - Keep Talking.

The issue of whether we have the greatest bling or Ubuntu has it is a
bit secondary, the issue is what can be done to address the outreach of
Fedora more. The more of Fedora there is on the market, the more folks
would be using it and that would enable a whole bundle of constructive
critical appraisal (in theory at least). This of course leads to the
issue of generating more local mirrors of Fedora - an issue that takes
time to happen but when it does it is sweet music.
