[PATCH (v2)] added copyin/copyout options; add makeChrootPath

Attached is the second version of the patch I posted yesterday. This version takes
into account comments offered by the list.

Jesse, I added tree copy code, but haven't heavily tested it yet. I will add a
release-test option today though.

Michael, this patch is essentially a 'git diff -p' of my stuff merged locally into
master, but with your changes to releasetests.sh, et al, removed (didn't want to
muddy the waters).
