Externe USB Festplatte

Liebe Leute,

Ich versuche verzweifelt mein Notebook mit Fedora2 aufzusetzen und habe
jetzt ein echte k.o Kriterium:
Unter RH7.3 kernel 2.4.22 kann ich ohne Probleme meine externe USB
Festplatte ansprechen, Mit dem 2.6.5-1er kernel von FC2 sehe ich zwar die
Platte als SCSI und kann mounten, erhalte dann aber einen Fehler.

Hat jemand 'ne Idee ?
