Probleme mit yum

Super danke für die Hilfe, also jetzt wird folgendes ausgegeben:


Exiting on user cancel.
[root at localhost merry]# service yum-updatesd stop
bash: service: command not found

Kann ich irgendwie herausfinden, ob ich noch als root angemeldet bin
ohne es zu wissen, nachdem ich das Terminal geschlossen hab?

Etwas paranoid von mir vielleicht, aber ich kenn mich noch fast gar
nicht mit der Areit auf der Konsole aus und bin da wahrscheinlich etwas
übervorsichtig.

Schließlich möchte ich ja nicht, dass ich aus Unwissenheit mein System
selbst unsicher mach, und dann irgendwann neu installieren muss um es
wieder sicher zu bekommen.
