i encounterd this problem too.  i found in the troubleshooting section:

it said you needed to install 'xorg-x11-deprecated-libs', but this
didn't work for me (using RHEL3).  so, here is the list of RPM's i
installed to get it working:

~  fontconfig
~  jpackage-utils
~  XFree86-libs
~  XFree86-libs-data
~  XFree86-Mesa-libGL
~  XFree86-xauth

if you have an active RHN subscription you can just use up2date to
install all of them.
