Using the Kernel Update rpm to 2.6.10 for Fedora Core 2

Hi,

I wanted to note that upgrading the kernel to 2.6.10 with the rpm on
fedora core 2 updates does not upgrade the wireless extensions package
on the system. Because the new kernel uses a version of the wireless
extensions protocol that is newer than version 26 of the Wireless Tools
program supports, wireless networking may stop working with certain
access points. The fix is to install version 27 of the Wireless Tools
available from
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Tools.html

Also, for laptop use with a laptop that uses apm, one must add acpi=off
and apm=on kernel parameters for apm power management to work properly.
Without doing this, acpi overrrides apm and you get no apm support.
