Yes! But make sure the following options are selected in your resulting
".config" file (if you plan to use the system through a physical
console):

CONFIG_INPUT=y
CONFIG_SERIO=y
CONFIG_SERIO_I8042=y
CONFIG_VT=y
CONFIG_VT_CONSOLE=y
CONFIG_HW_CONSOLE=y
