What happens if you put the restore CD in and reboot?  Does it boot off
the restore CD?  If it does not, you will need to change the boot order
in the BIOS.

I'm afraid I have never owned an E-Machine, so I don't know how to get
into the BIOS or set the boot order.  Do you see any kind of message
when it is booting like "Press F2 to Enter Setup" or something similar?
