Fedora Core 1 Install problem: X-window ?

When booting, at the splash screen/menu press "A".  then add "3" at the 
end of the line that comes up.
this will boot you to a text login (run level 3) and you can fis what is 
wrong with X there.
Another reboot will bring it back to the graphics login.
