classpath is an environment settings for java to know where the classes are located which u r trying to access. you can set classpath in the /etc/profile - file. to locate ur own java classes.

Could someone please explain to this horrendous newbie what a CLASS PATH is, or rather where it is, or how you find it?
Programs keep telling me to define it.
Thanks, Andy
