Well not alot of people are still supporting FC2, the FC developers certianly 
are not.
I would suggest upgrading to FC3 where the packers are maintaining an fixing 
bugs.

Seems like you have more than enough resourses, and if you printout the 
release notes and keep them handy for after the install of FC3 then you 
should be able to resolve the few big probs with the out of box issues 
stright away.
