As said, since you already *have* a glibc installed, you'd want -F.

Well, you don't *have* to, but anything that's running will still be
using the old glibc. That includes all the system binaries. So it would
be advisable.

As noted, problems or incompatibilities between glibc versions are
pretty serious. Have a rescue CD and your old glibc RPM handy in case
anything goes wrong.
