F7: X vesa at 1680x1050 no go?

I also have the X1300 (Dell Inspiron 6400).  AFAIK (at least with
FC6), you cannot get the vesa driver to support any modes not in the
BIOS mode table, and 1680x1050 isn't in there.  The only solution I
found was to install the proprietary ATI drivers instead, which not
only have 1680x1050, but are significantly faster and support
multi-head.

Note, do NOT use the vga= kernel parameter if you use the ATI driver;
it cannot initialize the display if it's not in its default text mode.
