sound oly works as root

As some people said I could buy another card, but I would like to re-ask
another question.

Recently, someone reported on his machine sound only works when he is
logged in as root. I wonder if he ever found a solution to that problem
since I share it. Clearly some service has the wrong permissions but
what?
