I'd like to express support for this too since I'm currently involved in
a project that would benefit from a working xawtv (in Fedora 11.) Too
bad it's broken due to missing fonts.
[rlc at deafeng3 ~]$ rpm -q xawtv
xawtv-3.95-11.fc11.x86_64

[rlc at deafeng3 ~]$ xawtv
This is xawtv-3.95, running on Linux/x86_64 (2.6.29.3-155.fc11.x86_64)
