You need to specify the path to the specific distro release+arch tree. 
For example for Fedora 7 on x86_64

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/7/Fedora/x86_64/os/

Yes, you can export the DVD using a FTP/NFS/HTTP from your Dom0 host.
