Greetings Red Hat Worldwide Partners,

Red Hat is pleased to announce the general availability of the Red Hat
v7 hardware test suite (v7-1.1-24) for certification testing purposes
with Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 4 and 5.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite GA (v7-1.1-24) package is an official
release and should be used for certification testing. The previous
Red Hat v7 hardware test suite (v7-1.1-23) may continue to be used for
certifications for up to 90 days from today at which point test results
generated with v7-1.1-23 will automatically be rejected by the Red Hat
Hardware Catalog (http://hardware.redhat.com).

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite GA is available from the Red Hat Network:

http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2010-0463.html

and at the following location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/

Highlights:

* R24 resolves an issue where the fv_* tests would not schedule nor run
if manually planned on the RHEL5.5-xen kernel. This was a result of new
masking of CPU flags in the 2.6.18-194.el5 kernel. This issue has been
addressed by extending the FV detection code adding
/sys/hypervisor/properties/capabilities and libvirt calls.

If you encounter any problems please file any bugs against the 'Red Hat
Hardware Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).

Changelog from v7-1.1-23 to v7-1.1-24:

576497 - fv_* is not listed in v7 print on rhel55-server-x86_64-xen
         system
584079 - RHEL6 v7 R23 does not parse uname -r output for kernel name

Red Hat values your ongoing participation and testing in the Red Hat
Enterprise Linux development, testing and certifications efforts. Thank
you for your continued partnership. If you have any questions or
comments, please do not hesitate to contact your Partner Manager or
Technical Account Manager.

Regards,

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Team.
