Greetings Red Hat Worldwide Partners,

Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat v7
hardware test suite Alpha (v7-1.2-3) for software testing purposes with
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 test releases. Red Hat will officially update
the Red Hat v7 hardware test suite before Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 GA
as well as inform partners when to begin official Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 6 Hardware Certification testing.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite RC (v7-1.2-3) package is not
considered an official release and should not be used for official
certification testing submissions. The current Red Hat v7 hardware test
suite (v7-1.1-23) should continue to be used for official certifications
of both Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x and 5.x.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite Alpha is available at the following
location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/

Highlights:

* This release addresses some basic issues with the current official v7
release (v7-1.1-23) to allow for targeted RHEL 6 testing.

* The alpha was smoke tested only. Full regression testing was not
performed;
as such bug discovery is expected.

* The alpha was smoke tested against RHEL 4, 5 and 6 on i386, x86_64,
s390x, and ppc, not inclusive of all combinations.

If you encounter any problems please file bugs against the 'Red Hat
Hardware Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
