Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat v7 Hardware
Test Suite GA (v7-1.5-32) for official Red Hat Hardware Certification
testing purposes with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x and 6.x, the upcoming
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3, and Red Hat MRG Realtime 2.1.

The Red Hat v7 Hardware Test Suite RC package (v7-1.5-32) *is* an
official release and should be used for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
certification submissions. Results from the previous Red Hat v7 hardware
test suite (v7-1.4-38) will continue to be accepted for a period of 90
days in keeping with the certification policy.

The Red Hat v7 Hardware Test Suite GA (v7-1.5-32) is available at the
following locations:

in the Red Hat Customer Portal:

http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2012-0711.html

and on the partner FTP site:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/v7/1.5/

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL5/v7/1.5/

Highlights of the v7 1.5-32 Hardware Test Suite GA:

* All previous v7-1.5 changes

* Minor bug fixes as listed in the change-log from the beta.

* All functions that previously used the Hardware Catalog test site
(https://partner-hwcert.redhat.com) have been changed to use the
official Hardware Catalog (https://hardware.redhat.com).

Reminder of the v7 1.5-28 Hardware Test Suite RC highlights:

* v7 can now open a new certification and upload a results package to an
existing certification using the "submit" command. The v7-1.5 RC will
send these requests to the Hardware Catalog test site at
https://partner-hwcert.redhat.com.

* The kdump test will now restart the kdump service before executing.
This avoids configuration mismatches where the kdump.conf file may have
been updated but the changes are not yet reflected in the kdump initrd.

* The info test will check for /etc/mrg-realtime-release on Realtime
kernels. If the release file is not found a warning is issued and the
test will continue.

Reminder of the v7-1.5-18 Hardware Test Suite Beta highlights:

* A new InfiniBand (IB) test has been added that captures the output
from 'ibstat' and 'ibstatus'. This test is automatically planned when an
IB bridge or an IB serial controller is detected in lspci. Similar to
the wlan test, it provides additional information to improve results
review and does not replace the functional network and/or storage
testing that is currently required of InfiniBand devices.

* The info test now verifies that the kernel on the system under test is
a GA-release kernel. A kernel version to Red Hat Enterprise Linux
release mapping file is automatically retrieved from the Red Hat partner
ftp site during the info test run. If the ftp site cannot be reached by
the system under test, a warning is issued and the test continues using
an internal mapping.

* The storage test now uses udisks in addition to hal on Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6 for hardware detection during the plan phase.

* The video test now verifies that all loaded X modules are provided by
Red Hat, similar to the way kernel modules are verified for Red Hat
origin in the info test. The video test also runs xvinfo, xdriinfo, and
glxinfo to gather additional information about the X environment. These
changes mean that the glx-utils package will be required for all
certification work performed on v7 1.5 or higher.

* The opticalDiskTest library code has been cleaned up and reorganized.
The associated cd, dvd, and bluray tests use the updated code.

* The network test now works in IPV6 environments.

The v7-1.5-32 package has been tested against Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
and 6 on the x86, x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you
encounter any problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware
Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
