Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat v7 Hardware
Test Suite BETA (v7-1.6.4-13) for testing purposes with Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6.x GA releases and 6.4 test releases.

The Red Hat v7 Hardware Test Suite beta package (v7-1.6.4-13) is *not*
an official release and should be *not* used for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux certification submissions. The current Red Hat v7 hardware test
suite (v7-1.5-32) should continue to be used for official certifications.

The Red Hat v7 Hardware Test Suite BETA (v7-1.6.4-13) is available at
the following location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/v7/1.6.4/

Highlights of the v7-1.6 Hardware Test Suite BETA include:

* v7-1.6 only supports and was exclusively tested on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 6.x releases. The v7-1.5 package will continue to support Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.x releases.

* v7 can now retrieve the certification test plan from the hardware
catalog when using the 'v7 certify' command. It will remove any items
from the v7 test plan on the system under test that have already been
marked as "Confirmed" in the hardware catalog. This feature is limited
to test classes and is not device specific at this time. The v7-1.6 BETA
is preconfigured to communicate with the partner test hardware catalog
(https://partner-hwcert.redhat.com/) which supports this feature, so you
can begin testing this now with the beta release of v7.

* v7 now uses udev data instead of hal data to plan and perform testing.

* The battery test is updated to use 10mw charge/discharge rate and
deals with unit changes between RHEL releases.

* The dvd-rw test now uses 'dvd+rw-format' instead of 'cdrecord' to
format blank media.

The v7-1.6.4-13 package has been tested against RHEL6 on the x86,
x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you encounter any problems,
please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware Certification Program'
product in Red Hat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
