[Hwcert-announce-list] Red Hat Certification 7.8, Test Suite Updates, and Updated Certification Workflow Site Available

Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of Red Hat
Certification 7.8 and its associated test suite package updates
(listed below).

PLEASE NOTE: Due to an issue on the Red Hat Customer Portal, the
latest 7.8 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 are not being
displayed automatically. At this time partners should avoid using the
"Download Latest" link for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 packages and
instead follow these steps to access the latest version:

1. Visit the download page at https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/282/
2. Set the product variant to "Red Hat Certification (for RHEL Server)"
3. Set the product version to "8" or "8 (latest)"
4. Click the "Packages" tab
5. Click on the appropriate package name in the list of packages, such
as "redhat-certification-hardware"
6. Set the package version to "7.8-20200310.el8 [latest]"
7. Use the "Download Now" button to download the latest version of the package.

We are working to correct the issue and will send a follow-up
announcement when the issue has been resolved.

This Red Hat Certification package update *is* an official release and
should be used for all new Red Hat certification submissions.
Successful results from the previous certification test suite will be
accepted for a period of 90 days.

This release includes enhancements and bug fixes as follows:

1. A new test is introduced for RHEL 8 Software Certification.
SOFTWARE/RPM assesses partner software packaged in the RPM format for
dependency handling, version handling, and provenance. Updates to the
policy and workflow guides provide additional details.

2. The manila_snapshot_revert_to_snapshot could fail on Red Hat
OpenStack Platform 16 as the manila-tempest-plugin generates random
test names during test execution causing a regex to fail. This issue
is addressed by defaulting the PYTHONHASHSEED environment variable to
"0" where required.

3. The rhcert-cli submit prompt message no longer displays "0" when a
certification id is not set for a result file. The prompt continues to
ask the user to supply a certification ID.
