I assume you mean to FC2 -- and golly, I wouldn't do it... Especially
with school coming so soon. Generally upgrading from somethign like 4.0.0
to 4.0.1 is painless, but to go all the way from 4.0 to 4.1 -- ouch.
I would expect a lot of issues, and MAYBE you'll be pleasantly surprised
and not have too many. I would expect a lot of headaches though.
Again, only do that if you must. If you can back up the /home directory,
and install clean -- you'll probably be happier.
