I've never been able to make this work. It tries to start an
X session which fails because it uses the same virtual console
as the SCREEN_01 session. It it supposed to work this way?

Would it be difficult to make it LDAP or other PAM modes of
authentication instead? If you have moderately fast clients
you could take a load off the server by running several apps
this way. If you NFS mount the same home dir, the ssh keys
would be easy to arrange and apps would see the same files.
