That sounds like you have an rpm made for the wrong SME version.  If
all you want to do is allow one or more users (besides root) to 
ssh into the system you can just edit the /etc/passwd file and
change the last field (to the right of the last ':') to
/bin/bash instead of /bin/sshell.
