[K12OSN] default resolutions

where do clients grab their default resolutions when booting up from?  i thought it was /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf but it is not because when we change modeline settings there is no difference on the clients, also thought it might be in /tmp/XF86Config but that is not there either.  where are they getting these from!!! my resolutions are all messed up and i can't get them to default to something. thanks.
