By default, IIRC, each user also creates its own group for a primary
group and they are also able to join secondary groups. Home dirs are
usually set to 770 or some such thing and owned by the user and their
primary group (usually this only includes that user). So all you
should have to do is add the teacher to each student's primary group.
This might be time consuming depending on how many students and
teachers you have. Any scripting wizards out there care to give this
a shot??
