Anyway, while searching, I came across the following:

I looks like there's some problem right now with mounting via cifs and samba 3.0.23a. I don't know wither 3.0.23b corrects this. Perhaps instead mounting via smbfs would work?
In smb4k's manual, it says that it will automatically use cifs if smbmount & smbumount are unavailable. Maybe try installing this via yum?
