[K12OSN] AC_97 Sound

This is my first test terminal so I'm probably doing something 
incorrectly... (;

The terminal boots correctly - I have a terminal with both a built-in 
ac97 and a pci soundblaster live! card. I can start it in shell mode and 
it has the ac97_codec, sound, soundcore, via97xx_cc? modules loaded. esd 
daemon is running. However, when I startx, system-config-soundcard says 
'No soundcards were detected' and the volume mixer gives the 'No 
devices' error.

Seems like I shouldn't have to edit the SMODULE_## lines in lts.conf 
because the soundcards are being found. What is the next step that I'm 
missing?
