[K12OSN] Upgrading

I make it a policy now to always have 2 "root" partitions.  One for the
/ file system, and one for the / file system for my next upgrade.  This
lets me quickly switch back to the old system if the newer version
doesn't work out.  It also preserves all my /etc files for me, making it
easy to copy them over to the new system's / partition.
