Re: [K12OSN] Install packages from full Fedora 10

Hello.  I don't have a network connection to the outside.   You are right, the fedora 10 DVD files are RPM not RAR.  My mistake.

Are you saying the LTSP 5 package is not part of the Fedora 10 full package and that I would have to access some online software repository for the LTSP 5 package?  I don't understand why I can't download the LTSP 5 package and install them.

Otherwise I would have to go back to Fedora 6 and LTSP 4 because that's the last full Fedora package there is.   I don't even understand the genius behind the act K12linux was deliberately bowderlized with barely the minimum Fedora 10 stuff.

Is there another Linux brand that offers BOTH the full package and LTSP 5?  ubuntu?  What's the download link?

The software installer should go and get these for you automatically from the software repository (assuming you have a network connection). Yum is the software updating/installation tool. It can be run from the terminal as long as you have root(administrator) privileges. The software updater and installer GUI tools are frontends for Yum and the RPM packages it uses to install the software. I don't know where you got the RAR files from.
The bolded instructions on the page describe the terminal commands to use. You will probably need to log as another user, open terminal and enter "su", followed by the root password. Then you can run those YUM commands.

Thank you.  Where do I find the ltsp-server and the ltsp-vmclient software packages to download? Can you provide me the link?

This explains how to get LTSP working on any version of Fedora 10 or higher.

Hello.  I tried the K12linux. It is a bowderlized version of Fedora 10.  I cannot get network shares or dial up modem and other stuff. I need the full Fedora 10 packages AND the LTSP 5 stuff.  I am not a Linux geek.  I cannot find LTSP 5 downloads anywhere.  I have a Fedora 10 DVD.  How do I restore the K12linux with packages from the Fedora 10 DVD? I keep getting errors when I try to install the .rar packages.
