[Linux-cluster] Active/Passive - GFS needed?

I will have a two node cluster connecting to a fibre channel SAN
(AX150). There is only one application on the server that our users will
access by using telnet or SSH with a terminal emulator. If I setup this
two node cluster up as active/passive, is there a need for GFS?
