[Pulp-list] Pulp Replication by Backup

Hello pulp-list,

I'm interested in replicating a pulp server over an air gap, using a HDD.

I tried once to backup one pulp system and restore on another. I 
transferred the directories:
/var/lib/pulp
/var/lib/mongodb
After restoration on the second machine, accessing the web server failed to 
show the rpms.

What else would be necessary to do this successfully?

Would the two machines need to have the same name?

Or perhaps would it be enough to alias the name of the first machine to the 
IP address of the second one? (Remember they are air gapped.)
