RH9 Install Problems 040416a

Thanks for the response,

I looked into redhat-config-xfree86 --help and tried setting the vsync,
hsync, and other items directly from the command line and from the
redhat-config-xfree86 utility. In all cases the screen reports that it has
probed the adapter and monitor and that "the responses are bogus".

I tried up2date again, RedHat recognized my user id & pw, built a large list
of items to update, I reduced the list to the 2 items relating to Up2date
itself. It failed at 20% again.

When I run redhat-config-xfree86, it never displays the "new" adapter
information, it does list the monitor and have selected it, set the hsync,
vsync, and given it the monitor dimensions nearly every time

Any suggestions for fixing this, should I start over, or should I start over
with a different version?

Gene

PS. Not often do I communicate with another Sears.
