LILO does not work

Hi all, 

I've installed linux redhat 7.2 as server at my PC but its loader doesn't 
work. I've installed MS Windows XP before.
First I made partition /dev/hda3 for linux with the mount point root and the 
type ext2. For LILO I choosed /dec/hda3. The loader didn't work.
Then I upgraded the linux. I changed the type to ext3 and for loader I 
choosed MBR. But it still didn't work.
Is there someone who can help me?
