Kickstart and "redhat-switch-mail" change to postfix --> /usr/sbin/alternatives

That's the key. Yes it works with "/usr/sbin/alternatives...".
Interesting comand "alternatives"...

without the --nochroot bit:

have you tried to put
/usr/sbin/alternatives --set mta /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix
in your %post script?
