Update / Install new packages from console

Hello I'am new to redhat,

Recentls I've used Debian and was very surprised how easy package managment
and even a release update is.
There are commands like apt-get to search for new packages and install them.

In the Redhat GUI I find the setup tool useful to add additional Software.
What is here the console counterpart?

What tools do I need to upgrade to new redhat releases.

Is RPM the only tool?
