Mounting windows partition

I don't have an ADSL connection here but a simple dialup one ( You now
the 56 k modem thing ) . Apart from that i have never experienced any
such thing before . As far as i know the mount command and it's operation
has nothing to do with the modem connection . If while you have the
auto keyword in your /etc/fstab , you try to activate the ADSL connection
what messages do you get in your /var/log/messages file ?
Sorry , but  i have never seen that before so i can't really help you 
with that .
